The DSES members are engaged in several research and development activities. These include not only the restoration of the 18m dish in Haswell, CO, and the development of various radio receiving systems, but also research in solar science and HI drift scans. The drift scan work is comprised of data collection and analysis on HI data. The solar research involves data collection and analysis at the 10.7 cm wavelength. Modern statistical methods are being applied to sunspot counting. Solar Ionospheric Disturbance data are being collected, and event detection statistics are in development.
